Breach Overview
In December 2025, French telecommunications provider SFR disclosed a data breach after unauthorized actors gained access to an internal system used to manage fixed-line customer subscriptions. The company stated that the attack resulted from unauthorized access to one of its internal management tools. The compromised data included customers' full names, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and customer account identifiers. According to SFR, no banking information, passwords, or payment card details were exposed. SFR notified affected customers, reported the incident to the French data protection authority (CNIL), and launched an internal investigation in cooperation with law enforcement. As of the latest public information, no threat actor has officially claimed responsibility for the breach, and the exact number of affected customers has not been disclosed.
